FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
CATALYST SYSTEMS UNVEILS 2005
ACADEMY PROGRAM
Novato, CA-November 8, 2004: Catalyst Systems, LLC, a healthcare consulting company specializing in precision staffing solutions, will launch a continuing education program in 2005 on "Evidence-Based Staffing Strategies to Enhance the Professional Work Environment." Although Catalyst Systems has long been a continuing education provider, this six-city tour is the first set of courses offered under the new Catalyst Academy program. "The professional work environment of nurses is at the forefront of contemporary healthcare issues," said Catalyst CEO and cofounder Holly A. De Groot, PhD, RN, FAAN. According to Dr. De Groot, "Prestigious groups such as the Institute of Medicine recognize the centrality of nursing to patient safety and positive patient outcomes, and that transforming the work environment of nurses is of highest priority. Creating 'patient-centric' care delivery systems that allow for high level nursing practice to flourish is key to meeting the social mandate of healthcare." Catalyst's day-long workshops are essential for patient care leaders interested in transforming healthcare in their own organizations. These informative programs will provide specific "how-to" examples for implementing valid, reliable, and evidence-based staffing and care delivery systems that will enhance the professional work environment in healthcare organizations throughout America. According to Dr. De Groot, "The dynamic methodologies presented at this workshop will have an extraordinary influence on the professional workplace. Participants will come away from the program with a clearer understanding of the elements that promote positive work environments and they will acquire new perspectives in formulating evidence-based staffing decisions." Dr. De Groot also noted that "the 2004 conference series was so successful and in such demand that we scheduled additional presentations by special request." The dates for the 2005 Catalyst Academy offerings are as follows:
A nurse-owned and operated firm dedicated to evidence-based staffing decisions, Catalyst built the first scientifically sound database of its type on staff workload and utilization patterns. Recognized as research, legislative, and policy experts for healthcare staffing, Catalyst is frequently invited to provide legislative testimony and related advisory services.
